Pro Vision – Building to Educate Foundation: Frequently Asked

Added Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the purpose of the Building to Educate Foundation?

The Building to Educate Foundation was created to reach and support Jamaica’s most vulnerable citizens—including the mentally challenged, homeless, unemployed, abused, and neglected—who often fall outside the reach of traditional government and social services.

2. Why was this foundation established when government ministries already exist?

While entities such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour and homes/shelters provide essential services, their reach and resources are limited. Many citizens with urgent needs—especially those facing abuse, neglect, or homelessness and the mentally challenged—remain unserved or unnoticed.

The Foundation aims to fill this gap by providing direct intervention, rehabilitation, and long-term support for those in need.

3. What problem is the foundation addressing?

The Foundation recognizes that many of society’s issues—crime, violence, homelessness, and unemployment—often stem from early neglect and lack of guidance. By identifying and supporting at-risk individuals early, the organization seeks to prevent these outcomes and help rebuild lives through education, care, and empowerment.

4. Who will benefit from this initiative?

The program will serve:

Mentally challenged individuals

Homeless persons

Unemployed citizens

Abused or neglected children and youth

Anyone in need of rehabilitation or social support

These individuals will be given the opportunity to become residents of Pro Vision, where they will receive the care, education, and guidance necessary to rebuild their lives.

5. How will the foundation identify persons in need of help?

This multi-pronged approach aims to maximize visibility and accessibility for those in need, ensuring that information about Pro Vision's services reaches a broad audience. The volunteer network will serve as the frontline, actively engaging with communities to identify vulnerable populations and connect them with appropriate resources. Media advertisements, encompassing traditional outlets like television and radio, as well as digital platforms, will raise public awareness about Pro Vision's mission and how individuals can seek help or offer support. Social media campaigns will further amplify these messages, leveraging the widespread reach of platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram to target specific demographics and foster community engagement. The combination of direct community involvement through volunteers and broad public awareness campaigns is designed to create a comprehensive system for identifying and assisting those in need across the nation

Volunteers across communities will:

Send stories, photos, or videos of individuals who appear to be in distress or need help.

Upload these reports to the Foundation’s central database for review.

Each case will then be investigated and verified before intervention begins.

6. What happens after someone is identified and verified?

Once verified, the individual will go through an interview and assessment process.

If approved, they will be accepted as a resident of Pro Vision, where they will begin a structured rehabilitation and educational journey—designed to help them become self-sufficient, confident, and capable contributors to society.

7. How does “Building to Educate” work in practice?

“Building to Educate” means that every intervention—from providing shelter to training—focuses on education and empowerment. The goal is not only to rescue and support individuals but also to teach them life skills, provide mental and emotional care, and prepare them for independent living and employment.

8. How can the public get involved?

Members of the public can support by:

Volunteering to identify and report individuals in need

Donating funds, supplies, or expertise

Partnering with the Foundation in education, rehabilitation, or social care initiatives.

Sponsoring various items small or large.

Every contribution helps strengthen the network that uplifts vulnerable citizens across the island.

9. What is the ultimate vision of the foundation?

The ultimate vision is to build a stronger, safer, and more compassionate Jamaica and world at large by addressing the root causes of social decay—starting with early intervention, rehabilitation, and education.

Through this, Pro Vision aims to transform lives and, by extension, transform communities. Please Donate ( When volunteering, sponsoring, or donating, please specify the cause you are supporting in the comment section)
